Grant Water Polo
Grant Water Polo encompasses players from all over NE and SE Portland, you don't have to attend Grant to play.
We are always welcoming players who want to work hard and have fun playing an Olympic sport.
Practices begin in August and games run September - November.
In 2023 our girls were 3rd place in state and the boys 5th. We're hoping to see even better results in 2024.

It’s been a few weeks since our senior night, but we wanted to capture some highlights from the celebration of our 12 amazing seniors: Coco, Stella, Kajsa, Piper, Karis, Jenna, Ava, Nate, Quinton, Ian, Emerson, and Milo. This dozen really embodies the qualities that make our Grant Water Polo family so special. They work hard, they play hard, they fight for each other and their teammates, and they show up time after time, in the heat, the snow, the ice and the dark to get stronger together. We are so proud of all of you, and can’t wait to keep cheering for you in all you will do. You will all be so missed. But before that, our girls still have work to do next weekend at state! Grant Water Polo is a club sport, and we rely HEAVILY on fund-raising, donations, and family contributions to pay for all the costs that come with having a great season for girls and boys JV and Varsity teams. Grant Gives supports us, and we ask you to support Grant Gives. Their annual What Gives With GrantGives event is Wednesday, September 25 at 6pm at the Hi Top Tavern! They cordially invite you and your friends, partners, colleagues and contacts! The (in)famous Grant Gimlet will be on offer, as well as opportunities for GHS parents and guardians to learn more about GrantGives, become more involved and invested in their kids’ extracurricular interests, and most importantly GIVE so that we can continue to support student groups at Grant! @grantgives 💙🙏💙

Let’s gooo Generals! We start a full week of polo with our first Home matches vs Westview today! Girls Varsity at 4 PM, followed by the guys at 5 PM. Our girls are undefeated so far this season, and our boys are looking strong! Parkrose HS, come out and support your Generals!

Thank you to the Grant Water Polo community who came out and volunteered their time and energy at one of the main fundraisers for our program. We appreciate each and every one of you who showed up bright and early to help keep cyclists safe. Stay tuned throughout the season to learn of more ways to help keep our program healthy and viable. Grant Water Polo had its best season finishes in program history last year, and we are ready to put in work for 2024. Daily doubles are around the corner, AM sessions at Parkrose, PM at Mt. Hood. Make sure your athletic clearance is submitted and your physicals are <2 years. Register for polo on the main Grant Athletics page under “Clearance.” Practice schedule for September tbd. Tonight’s awards banquet was a celebration of the entire Grant Polo program. One theme rang true-each player was recognized, seen, valued, and improved, and contributed to the best season in school program history. We are so thankful for our coaches, families, and support systems for making the 2023 season truly a season of firsts. A mountain of accolades were awarded, some serious from the coaches, and others seriously clever from the captains. We hope to get a list tomorrow to publish. Congratulations, GHS polo program! We love and will miss our seniors, but know our future is so bright! 💙

Congratulations to our Grant Girls for placing 3rd in state this weekend, after a season of growth and determination. This marks the first time ever in program history that either Grant team has finished in the top 3. 💪💪💪 We congratulate Barlow @barlowwaterpolo on a hard-fought game, and give our respect to a program that elevates our competition. Immense gratitude, always, to our dedicated coaches @garymuzzy , @kenzzbarr , and @brandon__loveless . Thank you for giving your time, talent and energy so our student athletes can know what it feels like to be on a team of sisters, playing for each other, and for their own self-growth.
